Brenden Dockter was born in Dickinson, ND and has spent his entire life in the Dakota's. Hunting is a big part of his family's tradition, which he has enjoyed from an early age. He purchased his first hunting dog (Scruffy) when he was only 10, unfortunately that was two years before he could hunt. Scruffy was a German Shorthaired Pointer with great hunting instincts, but his training skills needed some improvement. Brenden spent most of his childhood around all types of animals helping out his dad at Doc's Veterinary Clinic. His time at the clinic was where he learned about his true passion for animals.

After graduating high school, he moved to Fargo and attended North Dakota State University, following in his fathers footsteps of becoming a veterinarian.  During his five years at NDSU studying zoology, he realized that veterinary medicine wasn't the right path for him and decided to move back to Bismarck. Needing a career change he started volunteering with the Mandan City Fire Department. It didn't take long for him to realize that this was what he wanted to do, and he is currently employed with the Bismarck City Fire Department. He still loves to hunt, especially upland birds, alongside his Standard Poodle and bonding over the prairie finding pheasants.
